Clinics & Services
Sit and Wait Sessions
The introduction of the Sit and Wait surgeries at the practice are proving to be very successful and we have received a positive response from our patients.
However, some of our patients may not know of this service or the criteria that these sessions have, so we have listed below the following:
- Sit and Wait is between 08:00 – 10:00 (alternative Tuesday & Thursday start at 08:30)
- You will be seen by either a Doctor or a Nurse Practitioner
- It is something that must be dealt with today
- It must be a new problem
- It cannot be used for renewing sick notes, medication, or for reviews or referrals
- You will be seen in order of urgency as decided by the Doctor
- You will be seen that morning but we cannot give you a time that you will be seen
- Where ever possible and when appropriate we will try to offer you an appointment on the day so that the Sit and Wait are only used for urgent issues
We hope this information helps you decide which of our services are the most appropriate.

If you have a long term condition (asthma or other respiratory condition, diabetes, heart disease or have had a stroke or mini-stroke) you will be invited once a year for an annual check with a specialist nurse. The check takes approximately 20 minutes.
A blood test is required 2 weeks before the clinic appointment for patients with heart disease, diabetes or having had a stroke. You will be advised of this when you ring to book for the clinic. Please note you will be given the results of this blood test in the clinic, there is no need to telephone for them.
Please be aware that we are required by the government to call you three times each year if you do not respond to our letters. If you do not want to be called or you have had a letter and don't want to come to clinic you can download a disclaimer form from here. Fill it in and return it to us and we won't call you again for a year.
